Mr Bone and his mighty friends are on a mission to get people talking about organ transplantation in schools and in our homes. WHY? Because every day, thousands of people around the world die waiting for an organ transplant. By making organ donation the norm, we will not only save these lives, we will also bring happiness to tens of thousands more of their family and friends.
The solution to more organ donors is, quite literally, in YOU!
Teaching our children (or them teaching us!) about organ transplantation is the only way to disrupt the negative cycle of people not signing up to the organ donor register, or of families overruling a donor’s dying wish.
Like racism, prejudice, or any other deep rooted issue, we ultimately effect change through children. It’s all about teaching the next generation that organ donation is the normal thing to do so they in turn pass it on to their children.
In addition, lack of organs for children is a massive issue, but few people are aware of it and even fewer want to talk about it. The subject of organ transplantation is not mandatory on the school curriculum, and most children are completely unaware of the whole issue. But when you talk to children about this, they immediately see how vital it is, and embrace the idea that they could, and should be, donors.
HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP
1 DONOR CAN SAVE UP TO 7 LIVES

-
1. JOIN AN ORGAN DONOR REGISTER
Sign up today. Why wait? There’s no better time than the present. 1 donor can save up to 7 lives. If you’re under the age of 16 in the UK or 18 in the USA, you’ll need your parent’s consent. Find out more.
-
2. MAKE IT PART OF YOUR FAMILY PLAN
Have the conversation with your family today about an organ donation plan. Not all families want to sign up. That’s ok, we respect everyone’s wishes. But it’s important for you to know who in your family has and hasn’t signed the register, and what their preferences are should something ever happen to them. We know this conversation can be tough, so we’ve created a free toolkit to help you through the process step by step. Download toolkit.
-
3. SHARE YOUR PLAN WITH FRIENDS
Let’s keep the conversation going. Tell a friend! No, wait – tell the world! That’s better! Tell everyone you know – the Orgamites have no boundaries or borders, we simply want to save as many lives as we can. Send to a friend.

4. PROTECT YOUR ORGANS
Look after yourself, and look after your children’s health. Unhealthy organs are no good for you when you’re alive, they certainly aren’t good for your children, and they can’t be used in the event you become a donor. So check out the Orgamites 7 Tips for Healthy Living and live a healthier, happier life! Download Plan.

5. BACK ONE OF OUR PROJECTS
Make a donation or support one of our projects. The more money we raise, the more tools, toys and films we can make, the more people we can reach, and the more lives we can save. Find out more.
-
6. SIGN OUR PETITION
If you live in a country where organ transplant education is voluntary, then sign the Orgamites petition to make it MANDATORY on the education curriculum. The choice to donate will always be a personal one, but let’s make this an informed choice for people by explaining it to our children. Find out more.
